SOME OF THE SONGS WE SING AT SANCTUARY

How Many Kings

by Jason Germain and Marc Martel

How Many Kings
This is most definitely one of our favorite Christmas songs. In essence, it tells part of the story of Christmas as found in the gospels, but with some serious lyrical mastery: “Follow the star to a place unexpected” to see this “unlikeliest hero, wrapped in His mother’s shawl”. Each verse hold a high standard for story telling and lyrical depth, and does not disappoint.

We Seek Your Presence

Paul Kyle

We Seek Your Presence
We often use this tune as an opening to our worship. We find that it really helps us to prepare for the evening. Here’s verse 1: “We seek your presence / Lord, we long to see your face / We seek your presence / Lord, come now in your mercy / Fill this place.”

Love Can Change the World

Aaron Niequist

Love Can Change the World
This tune is about love; God being Love and Love bringing about change in the world. We used this song for our launch this past Easter and it has become a favorite at Sanctuary. The band loves to play it and folks seem to love singing it.

Beautiful Scandalous Night

Derald Daugherty and Steve Hindalong

Beautiful Scandalous Night
The words of this song are incredible!  We particularly love that each verse balances a confession of our own brokenness with the grace that Christ lifts us up again and again. And then the chorus visits the events of that “beautiful, scandalous night” when Jesus gave his own life to show us that grace in an unequivocal way.
