The Staff

Let's just say that our staff is a wee bit atypical.  First, to get it out of the way... yes, Mark (our pastor) is old enough to be a pastor. He's almost 30 (gasp!).  Secondly, he is in fact married to Sarah (our musician), though both Mark and Sarah would like you to know that they've known each other long before they ended up as pastor or musician.  And lastly, Jenny, who is neither related or in any way legally connected to Mark and Sarah, did by some coincidence grow up not that far from Mark in Ohio.  Weird, right?  If that is intriquing or confusing, or both, all of them are up for further clarification over coffee.

Sarah graduated from Trinity Lutheran Seminary with a Master of Arts in Church Music degree in 2011. Among other things, she discovered that the organ is not her instrument of choice.  But she plays a mean mandolin, violin, or anything else with strings. As Creative Director, Sarah wrangles musicians, occasionally takes a sledge hammer to an old piano to make art, and makes music every chance she gets.

Mark HuberLead Pastor

Pastor Mark is an ordained pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and has been serving as the pastor /  developer of Sanctuary since moving to Marshfield in 2009. Mark is an avid musician, enjoys buying books he never seems to finish, and loves living near beaches, mountains, and various other topographical features that make for a great excuse to get outside.

Jenny StyersPastor

Pastor Jenny is an ordained pastor of the United Methodist Church, and has been serving as the pastor of Harbor United Methodist Church in Scituate, MA since July. Whereas Mark takes up the big picture tasks of shaping a new community, Jenny is the systems engineer.  She is currently serving part-time at Sanctuary, consulting on structure, support, and the general organization of a denominationally diverse church.
