God created sacred space. We believe that joining God to create sacred space is one of the most reliable ways to slow down, hear what God is saying, and figure out how that applies to our lives. We've all been to a beautiful park, an intimate restaurant, or a comfortable home that helps us relax our guard and soak in the beauty of the world. Below are a few of the ways we're creating those kind of spaces, those sanctuaries, as Sanctuary.

A Bit On "Sanctuary"

Sanctuary As A Name

A sanctuary can be many things. It can be a safe place or a sacred space; a refuge for animals or a refuge for people. The word often refers to a particular place serving a particular purpose, and that's where we, as Sanctuary, differ a bit.

Sanctuary As A Verb

While describing places as sanctuaries is an ancient tradition, we're trying to turn sanctuary into a verb. An action word. We strive to create sacred spaces, safe places, and a sense of refuge in this fast-paced world where people are able to rest and reflect on what it truly means to live a life connected to God.

Sanctuary As A Physical Place

We believe that church is people of faith sharing their lives with each other and creating sacred spaces together. The church is a gift from God, not of real estate but of community, and as we gather and give thanks for that gift we leave our mark on the places we've been. As people transformed by God's incredible and overwhelming grace, we cannot help but to respond as God's church in service and love towards all those around us.
