Sunday Worship

Gathering together to give thanks for all God has done and continues to do is central to who we are at Sanctuary. We believe that worship is at the core of what it means to be a Christian, and is an incredible opportunity to create space where God is present, felt, and seen in those around us.

There seem to be a lot of words used to categorize worship: contemporary, traditional, liturgical, emergent... to be honest, we sort of see that as a false choice.  Worship has always been, and will continue to be, the expression by a particular community of thanks and praise to God.  At Sanctuary, that means embracing both the ancient and the innovative as we wrestle with how best to give our all to God in worship.

What To ExpectOn a typical Sunday night

we're all about interaction.

Worship isn't a passive activity to be watched, it's a verb.  On Sunday nights, people come as they are, feel free share what they're thinking, and join together to listen, sing, pray and think about what God is up to in our midst.

we like to sing.  a lot.

We sing the classics, new stuff we like, stuff that doesn't say "Jesus" over and over again but helps us worship God... occasionally we even write new music during worship.

Children are welcome.

We love a bit of joy-filled chaos, and promise there won't be any dirty looks if your kids express themselves during worship.  There are coloring tables in the worship space, and other opportunities for kids to sing and engage in worship regardless of age.
